I was browsing Google Earth and decided to check out the climate of Paso Robles, a small city 20 miles inland in Southern California. It surprised me that in SoCal, which is known for its mild Mediterranean climate, there was a place with such variation throughout the year. The winters are cool and fairly wet with often freezing temperatures, while the summers are dry and hot. I would give it a C+ just because the nights are too cool in the summer, and it's a bit dry.

Dry climate
Expect to see a lot of bad scores.
People here love insects and stickiness for some reason.

B+ but some years can get as high as a solid A from me

Edit: most people in Paso think of themselves as central Californians and not as part of socal, just letting you know.

C+ or may be even B-.
It's perfectly dry, so no mugginess.
The only drawback is summer daytime highs are too hot and also too extreme summer record highs. Summer nights cool down ok, but would be better if they were cooling at least 5-10F more. Climate bad for biting bugs.
Winters are really nicely mild/warm. Great sun, 286 sunny days per year.

I had to check their average wind speed on another site before finishing my grade which is B+. It would have gotten an A with less wind as every month you can find a time to enjoy being outside.

Hmm, B/B- . I like the warm temperatures overall, but the summer is too dry for my liking. The low temperatures are also a little too cool. The cool off probably feels nice in the summer, but especially April and October have chilly nights in relation to the high temp. And yeah, the recors highs in summer are a bit too much. But overall decent climate.

B-. Extreme diurnal range and dryness don't sound fun to deal with but they make the climate interesting

That climate produces excellent vineyards to make wine.

I prefer wetter, cloudier and cooler summers and colder winters. So, D+.

Unbearably dry summer where everything probably dies and browns over.

It's too sunny and hot overall- so a D-.

C-. Summers nearly rainless and very brown. Diurnal variation too high. Winters should get some snow if they're going to be that chilly.

Would give it an F minus, but Paso Robles at least doesn't have any flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, etc.
