Is the CFSv2 just complete trash or what? It can't see what a positive PNA and negative NAO does to the eastern 2/3rds??

Bike ride today felt so nice compared to the past 3 months. Dews in the 30s are great after months of 60s and 70s. I feel my sweat actively evaporating while biking with enough speed.

I envy you. Still dps in the 60s here with temps in the 60s and 70s. Might go down below 50F at the end of the week but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Sometimes you don't need a hard freeze to end growing season. Cold soil and temps in September is enough.

My Lows:
Sept 19: 42.8° at 6:54 am
Sept 20: 44.1° at 5:25am
Sept 21: 41.2° at 6:40am

Lots of 30s and low 40s out there again this morning. 10+ below normal. Few more 20s out there this morning as well.

(Normal low is in the 50s, 40s for New England)

Water temps are in the Mid-Upper 60s off the coast. Air temp in the 40s on land

Looks like we should be trending back to normal and even slightly above normal by the end of this week.
Turn off the heat and open the windows again.

33F this morning, frost for the 3rd night in a row.

Lows the last 3 days:

Saturday: 35F
Sunday: 32F
Monday: 33F

Growing season is officially over, even though we have a "warm" up coming (70s/50s). Will feel nice after an awesome but chilly weekend.

Euro says big time chill coming for the eastern 2/3rds. Wonder why the CFSv2 and to a lesser extent the GFS doesn't see this?

Very dry conditions with high fire danger here in central Indiana yesterday and again today, though less so today. Several brush and field fires were reported yesterday, including one that require the temporary evacuation of part of a town. We've officially had just 0.04 inches of rain since the middle of August so it's very dry already. Yesterday saw dewpoints in the upper 20s with temps in the mid-70s and gusty winds. So conditions were pretty good for wildfires. Humidity will go up a bit today and should get dewpoints back into the 50s tomorrow. The NWS has now introduced rain into the forecast for this Sunday. We desperately need it as we are currently in the driest September we've ever had.

First frost of the season happened on Saturday. This is by far the earliest frost that has been recorded on the lake shore, and it set a record event.
