A look at the 10,000' temps with Upper heights past 30 days or so. (Missed a few days)
Great look at how the atmosphere and pattern is always moving around...
Focus on the dark blues/purples which is below freezing and well below normal for this time of year.
Early Sept dip gave that rare snowstorm in the Rockies
Sept 20th a cold dip into New England that moved out...
Sept 29th big cold dip in central U.S which pushed down south..,
now a big chunk of the east has this cold air mass.
Which is bringing seasonable/cooler than normal surface temps
You need to look at the radar jack. I am 140 miles north of Tampa and nothing near me. How much rain has Tampa had at this time as i post this at 730am EST? They have had jack. So like i keep saying south FL has had 4 times the rain i have this year. Sure as heck no flooding rains anywhere near Tampa and sure as heck none at all around me. Over two weeks without a drop. I expect maybe .30" today max.
Think before banging away on a keyboard.
So you're in Gainesville now? Sure wasn't blazing hot there yesterday even if it wasn't raining. They didn't even reach 80 F.

Another deluge Saturday near the Med, this time near Nice, with daily tallies up to 570 mm (22.5"). A step down from the 700 mm+ tally a locale near Montpellier recorded two weeks ago, but this time the extreme rainfall was more widespread and damage has unfortunately been colossal.

Also, sun’s angle is a factor too.
Yeah, and summer dragged into September so the cool change was a tad more drastic than it usually is. It was in the mid-30s C (mid-90s F) a couple weeks ago, with even a tropical night on September 19, which is the latest recorded. It's also been quite wet lately.
