I'm down on Long Island tonite. Setting up a backyard tent right now for practicing winter camping. I just cannot explain in words what a massive pain in the ass this endeavor has been. Finally got it pegged after 2 hours. Now to try sleeping in this...

lol. Nice. Hope you were able to keep it pinned down. Winds were ripping from the North/NorthWest.

We are just above the base of the trough

Upper Low over Maine. Cold airmass over the Northeast with temps at 5000' in the single digits and below zero F

What it feels like with the wind

Not much to talk about for the start of Spring. Dry, seasonal and sunny. By this weekend temps will climb back above normal into the mid to upper 50s but until then, mostly 40s. Clear skies and sunshine every day for at least the next week as well.

that first graphic shows the upper level low nicely; what level is it mapping? morning temperatures weren't crazy cold but very low for a morning with strong wind

Stuck in the upper 40s all day and cloudy. Fortunately tomorrow we should return to the 60s and have beautiful clear skies. Thursday may hit 70.

Unfortunately we're looking at a shot of cold air for the weekend. Upper 20s possible sunday morning. I don't think the plants will be too affected since we're still pretty early in the season. And we'll return to more 60s and 70s into mid March
