So 80s with no shade didn't happen here. Not common but has happened in recent decades
There were no 80s for you in March? I had them in both March and April, just looked and saw that White Plains had 80 in March as well. You must be right on the immeadiate coast then right?

Close. 79°. I'm 10 minutes from the beach at 260' in the woods. But 80s and no shade is not common for White Plains either. It happened this year again for literally only 30 minutes. The 80F came between hourly OBS.

Strong storms in north LA this evening. These clouds were maybe with an outflow boundary. Garden pretty saturated after nearly 3 inches of rain last night. I've had over 17 inches of rain the past 5 weeks! Haven't been able to do much weeding...

May 2021:

Having some Gorgeous days lately after 2" of rain fell beginning of month. Everything pretty much leafed out, Oaks, Hickory, and Locust trees still need to fully mature though.

Temp: 71°F

Went for a little local hike. Sometimes pictures aren't worth a thousand words. Tiny brook but awesome sound.

Moss...Yuck

More moss

Do not get Elm logs delivered to split. They burn hot but a pain to split.

Lawn is growing rapidly. Mowed at that height 5 days ago.

Rhodo's are blooming

Autumn but still

Hike and Wild Camp, May 19th-20th 2021.

Weather - best station is Gooseberry Hill. This place was wayyyy more sheltered so expect a low closer to 9-10C.

19th: Max: 22.8C partly cloudy day clearing around sunset.
20th: Max: 23.6C, Min: 12.6C sunny, morning valley fog

Trail

New Tent (had to peg on a mix of moss and hard rocks which is why it's not fully tought because I couldn't find my sleeping mat)

Staying warm after sunset

View this morning from next to my tent

Around 7am with full fog

Pleasant day today by end of May standards. May not get above 80F with dewpoint in the 50's.

Corn field.

Some newly planted crops. I think farmers were delayed by wet conditions the past two months.
