States/Cities with Cool Weather and Low Humidity (climate, snow, hottest)

I'm looking to leave hot and humid Florida. I'm on my own for the first time in my life, and scared to move, but I'm very unhappy here and don't have any ties to the area anymore. Any suggestions?

A desert climate (low humidity) at a higher altitude so you get a large range in temperatures during the day, and the summer is not so hot as the lower altitudes in the climate region.

Tortoisegirl has a very interesting idea -- perhaps someplace like Flagstaff or Prescott, Arizona? Similar weather also exists in western Montana, from a busy city like Missoula to a little city like Kalispell.

Western Washington state, where I live, has much cooler weather than Florida, and has low humidity. I used to be a New Yorker, so I understand the horribleness of hot, humid, muggy days in summer. Not here. Never happens, because the breezes from the ocean keep the air drier and also clean.

Seattle and the surrounding area have a thriving economy, with breathtaking natural beauty including tall snow-capped mountain ranges, old-growth forests, rain forests, ocean and sound, islands, agricultural land, quaint towns and busy cities. There's everything here from alpacas and eagles to high-tech software companies.

And Anywhere, don't be scared. Your life is the adventure you create for yourself, and you will choose well. And know that no matter what path you choose, Life will absolutely show you the best it has to offer you from that path. Have fun deciding!

Most of Wyoming. There are only a few cities to choose from: Cheyenne, Laramie, Casper, and a few others. Makes picking one out easier, LOL!

The coolest place I can think of in Summertime is San Francisco, sometimes called the air conditioned city. The Coastal areas of the Bay have very nice weather and the Oceanside areas around SF can be downright cold in the middle of July and August.

Of course, this is odd cause right now we're going through a strange heatwave. Keeps us humble I guess. LOL

Minneapolis/St. Paul, although July & August can get sticky at times, and well, you've heard about our winters. Good, mixed economy that usually outperforms the rest of the nation, you can get a nice home in a good neighborhood for not a lot of money, city is clean and beautiful, and its just one of those places where you just naturally feel like "you are home" and you feel safe. A lot of sane if rather quiet people.

Anyway, you'll definitely want to stay west. Anything in the midwest or east coast will have sticky humid summers.

New Mexico? There are plenty of places in the Land of Enchantment that stay cool during the summer.

If you'd like a small town, look in the Ruidoso area. Ruidoso, New Mexico - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Ruidoso's hottest month on average is June, and the high temperatures average just above 80 degrees for that month. The temperature often drops into the 40s at night, even during the summer months. And you have world-class skiing in the winter.
Other towns in the area that would be worth checking out: Ruidoso Downs, Cloudcroft, Alto

If you prefer being near a bigger city, check out Espanola, about 25 miles from Santa Fe. While Santa Fe can get hot in the summer, Espanola usually stays slightly cooler due to its higher elevation. The average high in July is 80. Santa Fe itself has an average July high of 85 degrees, so it's not terribly hot, either.
