What's wacky about this climate:

-First and last frost dates. The last frost of January 30 and first frost of October 29 are pretty incompatible with one another for averages.
-Uneven distribution of warmth and cold. March and even February had warmer minimum temperatures than October, April had a minimum 6C warmer than October, March was almost as warm as October on average with an warmer average low, and February almost as warm as November with a warmer average high (weather box has a typo, February average should be 17.6C).
-Back-to-back opposite rainfall extremes. July is dry enough for it to be a Csa Mediterranean climate (30mm or less of rain in a high sun month), while August is wet enough for it to be a Cwa wet summer and dry winter subtropical climate (wettest high sun month 10x or more as wet as driest low sun month).

For my weather monitoring purposes I rate it a B. The October first frost is very bad, but the January last frost and loads of warmth after that compensate somewhat for that, and it's fun watching the uneven temperature and rainfall distribution.
Plus it fits perfectly with the motto of 'Keep Austin Weird'!

That combination of 95 F average high and 13 inches of rain in August is surreal

I suspect 'cheating' on that front. Most likely the rain fell when it was not 35C, allowing the high to reach 35C unobstructed by rain.

Nonetheless, it sure is. Nowhere else in the US seems to be like that for averages.

This is a one year snapshot, and this was when the once-in-500-years Hurricane Harvey hit.

I wonder what better says 'one year snapshot', the back-to-back Csa/Cwa rain or the uneven warmth that lead to a January last frost and October first frost. Haven't been able to get over either since I made the thread lol.
