Close, I view Boston's cool season as more "subtropical" (its more like a cooler version of the midatlantic in terms of dynamics than the interior imo, limited cold snaps as well), and beijing's warm season as more subtropical. Since beijing has warmer transitions, a higher annual mean, and it has a comparable or higher hardiness zone despite avging a bit colder (somewhat shieleded by the mtns from continental intrusions), I answered Beijing, but I see both as having some Cfa traits but incompletely.

Beijing because it has basically the same mid-winter means as Boston especially when you consider that Boston's airport is right on the coast. Outside of winter and November Beijing is undeniably warmer.

I'd say NYC vs Beijing are comparable in their degree of subtropicalness.

Boston and it’s not even close. Beijing has cooler winters. It’s like people voted for Beijing because of the hotter maximums - it’s more of a cold semi-arid climate. That doesn’t make it “subtropical”.

Beijing doesn’t have a higher “hardiness zone”, it’s growing degree days are similar.

New York City is much warmer than Beijing, no they aren’t similar.

Beijing’s mid-winter mean isn’t the same as Boston’s it’s colder. Let’s stop making stuff up please.

Beijing sees a somewhat hotter summer because of its semi-aridity, not it’s subtropicality.
