This seems like a pretty rough summer down in Texas, but comparing with the temps in 2011 it still is a bit cooler. Also haven't heard of bad fires like back in 2011, either.

Here's some states I been able to pull.

Dallas' average highs, lows and extremes

2011
June: 98/76 (104/67)
July: 102/81 (106/75)
August: 104/83 (110/75)

2023
June: 94/74 (102/66)
July: 100/79 (108/73)
August: TBA

The same for Austin

2011
June: 99/72 (105/62)
July: 100/72 (103/65)
August: 103/73 (110/66)

2023
June: 94/74 (102/66)
July: 100/79 (108/73)
August: TBA

I am surprised at how much cooler Austin was versus Dallas in 2011.

This summer is horrendous in Texas. I just want to move somewhere else, but can't afford it now.

I've thought about San Diego because of the temps, but it's pricey, I believe.

Here in the DFW metroplex this summer is turning out to be WAY worse than 2011, especially in terms of how dry it’s been. It appears likely that barring any rainfalls of more than a tenth of an inch or two that the summer of 2023 could be the driest summer in this area since 1956! So they’re comparing this summer season alone in the metroplex to the 1950’s Texas drought!

Not completely dry, but those retention ponds that you see in large housing & commercial developments with fountains? There is one near me that apparently was dug in 2 stages because the higher point in between, which in normal years are underwater, have plants growing
