I'm going with well above average temperatures on the order of +6-12F for most of the US for the first three weeks of December.
December is BY FAR the fastest warming month in the US over the past century.

Current forecast is for temperatures at about +3-4F. Still have a couple garden tasks I'd like to do so hopefully we can get a bit of warmth before winter sets in for good. So far it's looking like temperatures will vary rather little, with 28-37F highs and 18-32F lows.

Climatological vs Meteorological vs Astronomical Seasonal Debates

Meteorological winter started yesterday, and by pretty much every metric (temperature, snowfall, daylight, plant growth) that makes a lot more sense than saying winter starts on "Dec 21st".

But there is "climatological" winter?
