Admin been doing an excellent job keeping the trolls away but poorly on advertising the forum or site. If you notice there are a lot of "not a member" in those previous threads especially pre 2018.

Awesome time of the year!

Starting to feel a bit like fall, although the upcoming upswing in temperatures will make it feel like summer again. These photos are from a little while back (evening of Sep 24).

Found some woods totally overtaken by periwinkle. Common in gardens but not so much in the wild (non-native).

Some photos I took from a hike up in a mountain range- Trollheimen - in Central Norway in Mid-September this year. It was very warm weather for being up here, around 20C /70F.

First image towards this lake and mountains is at 700 m /2300 ft above sea level.

Here reaching area near treeline (about 900 m ASL/3000 ft), where there will be a very long snow season. The birch trees are contorted.

The undergrowth of heather is common in parts of the European boreal forest. By this time of year it has started to get nice autumn colours. Also starting to get nice views as forest upens up.
The distant mountains reach up to nearly 1700 m asl / 5600 ft asl.

And, continuing same hike: This is at the tundra. Not the arctic tundra, but the alpine tundra, some 1100 - 1310 m asl/ 3600 ft - 4300 ft asl.

Autumn was definitely in full swing in Edmonton. Indeed, it looked like the peak of colour had come and gone.

Sunday morning there was a lot of fog in the river valley and widespread frost.

Smoke from a wildfire in the area Monday evening. Closest wildfire I can recall to where I live. It's under control but 1,639 acres burned. Pretty unusual to see this here.

Fortunately 0.50-1.00" of rain fell in the area Thursday ahead of frontal system. Cooler, more fall-like temps have arrived but dry, windy conditions today increasing fire risk.
