And Burlington Pier ....only 40F / 4C ....with a east wind and cold lake water = chilly!
19C here according to my backyard thermometer. We'll see what the official max is tomorrow. I don't think we've ever recorded such a warm temperature here this early in the year. It's far above the February record of 14.5C, and we're only 4 days out of February.

It's not just Windsor that got exceptional heat in southern Ontario. Most inland locations did, and waterfront areas that avoided getting lake breezes like Goderich and Belleville. In fact, the departures from normal were greatest in the Grand River watershed where I live and across to Lake Huron as well as near the Georgian Bay.

Windsor A: 22.0C
Sarnia: 21.5C
Delhi: 21.4C
Welland-Pelham: 21.4C (quite the contrast vs 7.5C in nearby Vineland)
Brantford: 20.6C
Hamilton A: 20.6C
Waterloo A: 20.5C
Harrow: 19.8C
Goderich: 19.7C
Ridgetown: 19.7C
London: 19.6C
Guelph: 19.5C

The afternoon high temp was around 75F/23C in SW Ohio today. I went out for a 3 hour bike ride, and by the time I finished I had shed a few outer layers of shirts. It was just two degrees F below the record for the date, and 28 degrees F above the normal high. I am surprised the warm temps made it all the way north to the Toronto area, but there are no obstacles in the way to block the south wind that was blowing moderately all day.

It clobbered the daily record here. Warmest temperature on record to have occurred in the date range spanning Nov 20 to Mar 7.

Previous daily record was 53.1F on March 4, 1894. Today was 66F+.

Models continue effort to rebuild Alaska high pressure ridging by around mid-month, but initial cool to cold air supply should be limited. Super-warm, first half of March conditions should start to fade by this point though.

And the longer range is showing up cool. Just what I thought. Torch throughout most of winter into a spring when we want warmth we get cooler temps

Predictable. As someone said, we had a warm winter yet spring will be colder than normal (Chicago) especially April , and summer wont be that hot.

The monthly outlook for April off of the Euro still showing near to above normal temps so maybe the first half might be cool but the second might see a rebound in temps?
