Archbold Station, December 2019. A 28/19C day on December 2 was followed by a hard frost -2C low on December 3.

A similar case occurred in October and November 2014 as well. October 31 2014 had a 16C low, while November 2 2014 had a 1C low.

Waycross Airport, March 2015.

3/1: 16/8C
3/2: 24/12C
3/3: 29/14C
3/4: 31/16C
3/5: 31/15C
3/6: 12/6C
3/7: 19/3C
3/8: 25/3C
3/9: 27/9C
3/10: 31/13C
3/11: 32/16C

Notice how there was a 19C drop in high temperatures from the 5th to the 6th, and how the highest monthly high on the 11th was only 3 to 4 days away from the coldest monthly lows on the 7th and 8th. The warmest monthly low of 20C was also not far off, on the 14th.

Tallahassee Airport, January 2020. This is the full stretch from January 1-22:

18/1C
23/11C
26/21C
24/10C
16/2C
21/0C
21/3C
19/-1C
23/-2C
26/14C
24/21C
22/17C
24/16C
27/15C
25/18C
26/18C
22/12C
23/10C
19/8C
11/0C
8/-1C
15/-2C

Not only is it a bunch of swings between frosts and tropical nights, there is also very dramatic variation in diurnal range.

St Simons Island, February 2015 vs 2023. An example of how variable the Southeast US can be in the same low-sun month.

February 2015 was 14/4C with no day warmer than 22C, no night warmer than 11C, a high as low as 5C, and a low as low as -4C.
By contrast, February 2023 was 24/14C with 4 days as warm as 31C, a night as warm as 23C (1C warmer than the warmest in 2015), no days colder than 14C (the average high of 2015), and no nights colder than 5C (warmer than the average low in 2015).

The difference between these 2 is the difference between an Atlanta February and a Sarasota February.
