When outside was 34°C, I measured 47°C inside the car locating the thermometer in the shade.

Not unusual. It can probably get to 50-60C if the car is out on the sun for several hours with the windows closed when it's 30-40C outside.

That's a danger even at much higher latitudes and cooler temperatures than those typical of Darwin. Very much of a danger to life to leave pets and children in cars on warm sunny days in Canada too.

But another factor is being in closed air, which makes it feel so much more comfortable.

36-37°C outside in the shade is nothing like 36-37°C house room temperature.

Dry outside weather would feel like humid weather indoor.

Car seat temperature up, checked too soon.
