I wish my winter weather was like it is in Aust. Aw man, nearly 60 degrees in the middle of winter. I could handle that.

melbourne's average is 60F in July And we have the COLDEST winters of all the capital cities, except for Canberra and Hobart ( both average around 53 in july). Lowest winter high I've seen here was 48F on August 10 2005 and May 17 this year (however the OFFICIAL temp for the May reading was 55F, due to it being warmer at 3am than at any time between sunrise and sunset.)

My July is warmer than about 6 months of your year Jammie ..... bloody outragous isn't it.

Today is actually warm enough to be comfortable in a t-shirt and long pants in the sun.

We are planning to go to Sydney, AUS in second part of August 2008.
Is it still winter or early spring?? Can you give me a range of estimated temperatures (high's and low's )??? And what about dress (light jacket, long or short sleeves, etc) ???
Thanks

Yeah have a look at the site provided by ausweatherman... It has good information on it and you should find what you are looking for there...

Had 5.8mm overnight with havy showers on and off again througout the night. Just some light drizzle now but i expect that to pick up throughout the day. Current temp (celsius)= 11.3

Your July is warmer than 7 months of Toronto's year too.

In winter that only happens with record warmth and sunshine,
and that's only with a light wind or no wind,
because it "never" passes 55-59 F (13-15 C) in winter.

Its been ok today regarding weatherwise. Still cloudy, but fine. No rain at all here today which suprised me a little... I expect the isolated to scattered showers to redevelop overnight then ease and generally clear tomorrow afternoon before the next burst midweek... Looking at the potential for some really damaging winds through southern Victoria from Wednesday to early Friday... Will have to wait and see.

Cheers
