I want to visit a spot where thunderstorms are windy, noisy and hailing! I'm thinking a vacation for a week would be good enough there. What is the most intense spot you know of that expects such weather, and when would that be? Why am I asking? Weather here is boooooooooooooring.

well, pretty much anywhere in the south has "pop-up" thundestorms in the summer when hot, humid air rises and forms big thunderheads, and produces some awesome thunderstorms

Mobile, AL i think has the most days with thunderstorms on average and central Florida is the "lightning capital of the world" and you can't count out Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, or Arkansas, pretty much any state in the midwest/great plains has some pretty good thunderstorms, good luck

Central Florida, around the Orlando-Tampa-Ocala area. it's like a 2nd tornado alley there, LOTS of thunderstorms with lightning and hail

You need to be in Kansas right now. I'm in Missouri and we have been getting hit alot the last month, Kansas right now is one big warning, they are showing the storms moving our way out over Lawrence KS right now and man the lightning is very intense. I have an hour before they hit here.

Tampa Florida holds the title as the "Lighting Storm Capital" of the world. I lived there for over a year and I whole heartedly agree. haha
