The cold weather will be gone the coming week. Let's hope not too much of the snow melts.

The coming week in Lofoten up in the Arctic Circle, mild there too

Prepare for some rain/sleet/snow. Everything's falling out from the sky:

Mainly above average temps the last week of January. Hint's of winter's return or at least some below average temps to start February. Nothing extreme...

Looks like a warm up is coming this weekend. Warmest temps since around Christmas in the forecast.

Interesting how warmer temps are associated with cloudiness and cooler temp with sunny skies.

Here in the summer it is the opposite.

I think that's because radiative cooling is so prevalent here, and only subtropical air flows, bring prolonged cloud -at any time of the year.

What factors give your climate the opposite effect.

I'll be away working in Germany until the end of February. All last week they had some decent interesting -5C highs and -10C lows with plenty of snow, this week looks mild even by my standards

I should be more or less guaranteed at least some snow and cold at some point though, and if I can't get it here then I'm not too far from the Alps at least.
