Not a trace of mildness in the forecast, and there hasn't been any milder than average weather since September 9th.
If Sept. 10th to Oct 12th had been a complete month it would be well below 2 degrees colder than the average, nearer 3. 2012 has been a very irritating year for long, boring stretches of colder than average temperatures with one or two warmer days every now and then. It's statistically unusual to get such a long stretch of permanently colder than average garbage. One of the things I hate about recent developments in the UK's climate, the long stretches of blocked in weather patterns (and usually northerlies) with no temperature variation at all. When I look at weather records from the 70's, 80's, the temperature used to vary about a lot , lot more than it does these days.

Yup, a useless spell of mild weather coming up (well, for myself, since I don't appreciate it). The chances of a very cold October are in jeopardy thanks to this mild SWly flow being progged! Hopefully we do get a cooler shot at the end of the month.
