Where did you get that mtd total of 31.4 hours from anyway, was it here?

If so, then you didn't mention that two days' worth of data are missing! Looking at the figures from [URL="http://nw3weather.co.uk/wxdataday.php?vartype=sunhr&year=2014"]Hampstead[/URL] (which usually records even less sun than Heathrow but is more or less in sync looking at the rest of this month), there were a total of roughly seven hours of sunshine on the 5th and 6th, so if you add that to your 31.4 then you need to get no more than 1.3 hours of sunshine for the whole of the rest of the month (including what you had today) for November 2014 to be the second dullest. If you get that then you have the credibility to moan about the gloom as much as you like...
Oh I didn't see the missing days, I guess that does make a difference then! Still, the past week has been atrocious here for sunshine, only a couple of days with a few hours and then some completely sunless days.. I am going to develop SAD soon, thankfully Grenoble is slightly sunnier in winter
