Gee. With all the snow in my forecast I might actually get to 5" this winter. these T-2" events are more annoying than drizzle.

MT WILSON NO 2, CALIFORNIA - Climate Summary

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA - Climate Summary

High Temperatures in the San Gabriel Mountains
Thats in SoCal which is warm for the latitude. And on/near desert. Mt. wilson is only few hundred miles from Death Valley.

I was talking about island in deep tropics, in a mountain slightly higher than mt. washington.

Using -2c every 1000 feet means avg sea level low of 29c in July.
Using -2.5c every 1000 feet means sea level avg low of 31.85c in july.
Using -4f every 1000 feet means avg sea level low of 30.2c in July.

Note that in Southern California, the average summer low at sea level was colder than at 5700 feet.

A burst of snow and cold winds is moving in, only to then melt a day later. Classic US East coast winter. This endless cycle of freezing and thawing is really starting to hit roads hard.

This winter seems to be sunnier than normal. December at Leeming had around 83 hours of sun. Probably similar here, if not more, since Leeming tends to be duller. It has 27 hours so far this month.
