Its for a La Nina to develop sometime over this Summer or Autumn. A wet year could be had. Though they have mentioned thunderstorms are a good chance still.

I've heard about that aswell. Except, we are basically in La Nina conditions now I HATE La Nina
I guess this is the final nail in the coffin Seems like Sydney is also getting crap, with nothing over 25C in their 7 day forecast....
and ofcourse, new years looks like absolute CRAP!
Furthermore, I'm 100% sure today wontr get ANYWHERE NEAR 26C, nor will tomorrow be 27C, both days will be 20-22C more like it, thanks to the usual bloody southerly seabreezes

there is 5800 thickness progged over northern vic towards Jan 6-7, with 5880 over the nullarbour. Could see some temps over 45C.
Infact, northern Vic seems to be in the firing line for widespread heat from about Jan 2.
this december has to be balanced out with a janaury, february and march thats 5C hotter than normal, and with thunderstorms every second day with warm humid rain, not that typical melbourne ice showers
