Thursday: No thunderstorms are expected as a high pressure system moves to the west of Tasmania, keeping Victorias weather fine.

Friday: A high pressure system will pass to the south of Tasmania, so stable conditions continuing with no thunderstorms expected.

Saturday: A high pressure system dominating from the Tasman Sea, as well as another high pressure system moving south of Western Australia. No thunderstorms are expected.

Sunday: A high pressure system remaining south of Western Australia, as the high in the Tasman continues to cause stable weather across Victoria. No thunderstorms are expected at this stage, however a model is showing some disturbance in the uppers, so please watch this day.

THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL OUTLOOK
Updated at: 6:43pm

Tuesday Evening: No thunderstorms are expected as a high pressure system dominates from the Great Australian Bight, extending ridges over Victoria.

Wednesday: No thunderstorms are expected as a high pressure system dominates from the Great Australian Bight, extending a ridge over Victoria.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK
Thursday: No thunderstorms are expected as a high pressure system moves to the west of Tasmania, keeping Victorias weather fine.

Friday: A high pressure system will pass to the south of Tasmania, so stable conditions continuing with no thunderstorms expected.

Saturday: A high pressure system dominating from the Tasman Sea, as well as another high pressure system moving south of Western Australia will keep most of the state stable. A trough of low pressure may develop over the northeast of the state and increasing moisture in that area could cause an isolated thunderstorm. No severe storms.

Sunday: A high pressure system will move into the western parts of the Great Australian Bight, and the original high will remain in the Tasman. A trough over the state and with moderate to high moisture levels, isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible over all areas. Small chance for severe storms.

Monday: The original high pressure system moves away from the Tasman Sea as another high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight moves south of Tasmania. A trough over the state and moderate to high moisture levels could cause isolated afternoon thunderstorms over all areas. Small chance for severe storms.

Tuesday: The high pressure system will move into the Tasman Sea, east of Tasmania. A trough over Victoria and moderate to high moisture levels could cause isolated afternoon thunderstorms over all areas. Small chance for severe storms.

Wednesday: The high pressure system will move slighty more east over the Tasman Sea, nearer to New Zealand. A trough is still likely to be over Victoria with moderate to high moisture levels, so isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible over all areas. Please note however that one model in particular is indicating a parent low to attach itself on to the trough, so please watch this day. Small chance for severe storms.

Sunday: A high pressure system will move into the western parts of the Great Australian Bight, and the original high will remain in the Tasman.

(*Because a model is indicating a low, Wednesdays forecast could change.)

Thursday: The high pressure system will remain over the Tasman Sea nearer to New Zealand. A trough is still likely to be over Victoria with moderate to high moisture levels, so isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible over all areas. Please note however that one model in particular is showing a parent low to be attached to the trough sitting over the eastern area of the Great Australian Bight. (*Because a model is indicating a low, Thursdays forecast could change.)

THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL OUTLOOK
Updated at: 7:46pm

Thursday Evening: Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the north, otherwise fine and no severe storms.

Friday: A high pressure system will pass to the south of Tasmania, so stable conditions continuing with no thunderstorms expected.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK
Saturday: A high pressure system dominating from the Tasman Sea, as well as another high pressure system moving south of Western Australia will keep Victoria's weather fine and stable.

Sunday: A high pressure system will move into the Great Australian Bight, and the original high will remain in the Tasman. There is the possibility that a trough will develop over the state and with increasing moisture levels, isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible over the ranges, mainly in the east. Small chance for severe storms.

Monday: The original high pressure system moves away from the Tasman Sea as another high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight moves south of Tasmania. A trough over the state and moderate to high moisture levels should cause isolated afternoon thunderstorms over all areas. Small to medium chance for severe storms.

Tuesday: The high pressure system will move into the Tasman Sea, east of Tasmania. A trough over Victoria and moderate to high moisture levels should cause isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms over all areas. Small to medium chance for severe storms.

Wednesday: The high pressure system will move slighty more east over the Tasman Sea, nearer to New Zealand. A trough is still likely to be over Victoria with moderate to high moisture levels, so isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms are likely over all areas. *Please note that one model is indicating a low to develop over eastern parts of the Great Australian Bight. Medium to high chance for severe storms. (*Because a model is indicating a low, Wednesdays forecast could change.)

Thursday: The high pressure system will remain near New Zealand. A trough is still likely to be over Victoria with moderate to high moisture levels, so isolated likely over all areas. Medium to high chance for severe storms. *Please note that one model is showing a low over eastern parts of the Great Australian Bight, and another to develop off the east coast of Victoria. (*Because a model is indicating a low/s, Thursdays forecast could change.)

Friday: A new high pressure system will move into the Great Australian Bight. There is a little bit of uncertainty towards Fridays forecast, but at this stage a trough should remain over the state with moderate to high moisture levels, so isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms are possible. Medium to high chance of severe storms.

THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL OUTLOOK
Updated at: 7:22pm

Friday Evening: A high pressure system will pass to the south of Tasmania and move into the Tasman Sea, causing stable conditions continuing with no thunderstorms expected.

Saturday: A high pressure system dominating from the Tasman Sea, as well as another high pressure system moving south of Western Australia will keep Victoria's weather fine and stable.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK
Sunday: A high pressure system will move into the Great Australian Bight, and the original high will remain in the Tasman. There is the possibility that a trough will develop over the state, and with increasing moisture levels, isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible throughout the Wimmera and Western districts, mainly about the ranges and coast at this stage. Very small chance for severe storms.

Monday: The original high pressure system moves away from the Tasman Sea as another high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight moves south of Tasmania. A trough is likely to remain over the state and moisture levels will remain moderate at least, perhaps high, so isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible over all areas. Small chance for severe thunderstorms.

Tuesday: The high pressure system will remain south of Tasmania, extending into the Tasman Sea. A trough over Victoria and moderate to high moisture levels could cause isolated afternoon thunderstorms over all areas. Small chance for severe storms.

Wednesday: The high pressure system will remain slightly southeast of Tasmania, extending into the Tasman Sea. A trough is still likely to be over Victoria with moderate to high moisture levels, so isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible over all areas. Small chance for severe storms.

Thursday: The high pressure system will remain southeast of Tasmania extending into the Tasman Sea. A trough is still likely to be over Victoria and a developing low pressure system is likely just to the west of the state. Moderate to high moisture levels are expected, so isolated to scattered thunderstorms are likely over all areas, particularly the western districts. Small to medium chance for severe storms, becoming a high chance in the western districts.

Friday: The high pressure system will near New Zealand as a trough and low pressure system slowly move across Victoria. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are likely over all parts of the state with a medium to high chance of severe storms.

Saturday: There is some uncertainty about the forecast for Saturday, however at this stage its likely a new high pressure system will move near Victoria and the low will move away from the state, so a stabalizing environment with no thunderstorms.

NEXT UPDATE: Saturday, 8:00am
