I have been searching for unique Csa/As transitional climates. I have found that As climates usually occur near Bsh climate zones. But I wonder if there is any transitional climate similar to Cfa/Am with Mediterranean precipitation patterns instead of summer wet seasons. I have not had luck finding any. Let me know if you see something.

How about in Hawaii? Much of Hawaii has a winter rainfall bias so I'd expect Csa/As climates at altitude. Lanai City is almost Csa.

Lanai's high elevation gives it a tropical highland climate.

Looks like Jalisco state in Mexico has some transitional climates of this type. Although, they are hard to spot.

Your best bet is a tropical desert climate with a winter maximum precipitation such as the Canary Islands.

Nevertheless, it's still close to the Koppen As/Csa border. Coolest month is 18.8C which is only 0.9C warmer than the upper limit for Cs* climates if we're working to one decimal place. The driest month gets 36mm, so only 6 mm too much. The wettest month gets 128mm so it would easily satisfy the requirement of at least 3x as much rainfall in the wettest low sun month as the driest high sun month. It's very close to the As/Csa boundary.

I feel though that in making his system symmetrical by creating an As category, he made one that's much smaller and less significant than some of his other categories such as his Cfa and Cfb categories, which are extremely broad. For tropical climates, the distinction between high and low sun wet seasons is less meaningful, and for equatorial ones it's practically meaningless from an ecological point of view.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Palma are BSh climates though so not really what we're looking for. Fairly close to an As/BSh/Csa tripoint though.

Funchal is pretty close to the As/Csa border though.

But I’m sure there are places higher up the mountains where it gets wet enough for Cfa/Cfb climate as the mountain tops are much greener than the coast where the cities are located.

Yeah but is there an As/Cs* boundary? Might be a BSh/Cs* boundary.
