Well, as I sit here in Northern New Jersey, fearing the fact that I have to leave in a couple of hours to pick up my husband and kids from school, I decided to check out the weather. As of right now, it's 18 degrees outside and with the windchill it's bringing it to -4 degrees below. I'm thinking the kids might want to sleep at school and my husband may want to stay over at work....I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE MY HOUSE!!!!! However, I just read the news about the midwest, Northern Minnesota is suffering a -9 below temp. which is supposedly better than yesterday's which was -38 below for them. Part of North Dakota was was -31 below yesterday and is -5 below today. Milwaukee and Western New York had some of their schools closed for the second day....is this weather insanity or what?! And I'm the one who wants to move to Maine (maybe I am crazy after all).
It's supposed to be 51F or so today in Springfield, Missouri, the warmest in ... well..that I can think of in weeks and weeks! I'm actually a tad excited! The snow is melting quickly now and my deck is clearing...so if enough deck opens up today...and there's no wind... I may go out and show my naturals in the sun for a couple of hours!!!
It's been bitter, bitter, bitter cold with snow and ice this winter and we've had I would estimate at least five weeks so far total of ice and snow cover. I'M SICK OF IT!!!!!!
Here in Minnesota it is has been snowing and the temps at 0 degrees. That is for southern Minnesota.
I don't mind the cold weather, but that's just too cold for me. I've experienced temps of 0 or less only 2 or 3 times my entire life here in eastern NC. 1/21/1985 is the all time record low for Raleigh at -9F. I remember the ground being frozen for quite a while that winter. That's something you don't see very often around here anymore.
