This is very close to Sydney, Oz, but with the seasons reversed. Average max in Jan/Feb around 26C, mins around 18/19. In winter, average max in Jun/July around 17C, mins around 9C.

We get around 2,500 hours sun/year, mild and sunny winters and warm summers without too many extremes.

Not sure we fit the thunderstorm bill though, although do not have the data to hand....Any ideas anyone?

Rainfall is double your request at 1,200mm - however most of this falls in summer and autumn (and much during the afternoon and evenings)

IN terms of the temp, I'd say that would be somewhere on the NSW coast between Wollongong and the Vic border, although subtract a couple of degrees from the winter lows.

That would also be a very close fit to Perth's Rottnest Island, bar the 50 storm days.

Up until about last year, I loved having hot summers. Now, I think the ideal climate would consist of 75 degree days, 55 degree evenings, and no humidity. Now that's Heavenly!

That looks like it's pretty cold for this time of year at your latitiude. I'm assuming Coltingbury is at a higher elevation?

Saab Island Forecast for Wednesday.

Partly cloudy in the north, clear throughout the west and south. Slight chance of an afternoon shower in the far north and Cantwell Peninsula regions. Hot and dry in the west and northwest with moderate easterly winds.

No Coltingbury is a city on the North Island of Floridania in the mid-30's latitude, whereas the other location (Tym City) was on the south Island at 22 degrees latitude. But yeah the forecast at the moment for Coltingbury is a bit below average, but the summer should see temps reaching 35-40C pretty soon!

How does an island at that latitude (or any latitude) normally experience 35-40 C?
(explain what you've done to modify the weather )

It's a big island and Coltingbury is fairly inland. The Island is slightly bigger than Spain. Coltingbury is also in a flat plain between two mountain ranges and gets a "foehn" effect, as well as predominant south easterly winds in the summer. These winds are heated enough over a stretch of about 200 miles of land so that with the fairly clear skies on the leeward side of the mountain range, average maxima are about 33C for June and 35-36C in July / August.

It's not really too disimilar from the way Sevilla, Spain gets high temperatures, even though it is not far from ocean and at 37*N. It gets an average high of 36C in July / August!

I like the sound of that.
The average high of 36 C is accompanied by low humidity, just like Seville?
