Your ideal climate is much more desirable than where I am, no doubt. Lows below 70 are rare this time of year here. If I was forced to choose between staying here and moving there, I would be outta here the next day.
Yea, I made the summers that way on purpose. I wanted a climate with a somewhat hot summer but mild the rest of the year, so was debating whether my ideal would be Mediterranean (dry summer) or humid subtropical (wet summer), and I decided on Mediterranean because humidity + heat would be too unpleasant and cooler nights would prevent the heat from feeling overwhelming. Last weekend, we had a day that went to 94 in the afternoon and mid 60s at night (on the dry-ish side; dewpoint was slightly below 60) and I enjoyed it but I definitely did not enjoy the day before where the temperature was equally hot but much more humid. I was able to sleep more comfortably at night on the drier day with a cooler night, as I don't have A/C.

Warmer than average SSTs of 27-28C and unusual cloudiness are continuing around northern Saab Island, resulting in one of the warmest winters in history. SSTs are about 2C above average, and combined with increased cloudiness have resulted in abnormally high overnight lows and high humidity. Daytime highs are also above average as the cooling effect of the ocean has been mitigated due to high SSTs. So far in July 2010, Sabtown's average low/high temps are at 23.2C/31.7C(average 20.9/30.8C), while Point Piper (the bayside station) is running at 24.1/29.5C (average 22.3/28.7C).

I'm finding out this summer I might prefer Mediterrannean summers too,

but not because high humidity bothers me as other people who want dry summers...
I'm getting sick of all this rain and cloud.
Too many days have less than 50% chance of sunshine.
I'm also getting tired of being under t-storm watches.
Comfortwise I don't care if the dewpoint stays at 75 F; at least that way the air temp isn't below 75 F.

Hmm. You're the opposite of me. I don't mind the rain much, just the humidity (when it's hot). In fact, the only reason I like when it's really humid is that it makes downpours and big thunderstorms more likely. I find them exciting. Last night the temperature didn't go below 77 and the dew point stayed at 75-76. I think you would have enjoyed our night.

As humid climates go, if you're going to have rain, why not a rainforest? I'd like to visit a rainforest one day. If it's not cold, I don't mind rain, I'll just stand in the rain and get a shower. This place is humid but not that hot:

Allergic to sweat?

Thunderstorms here aren't usually exciting though.
They usually occur on overcast days, so the sky is flat, dark grey, with some black clouds mixed in.
I only enjoy the temps outside about 4 months a year,
and t-storms can rob me of time that I can frivolously spend outdoors during warmth/heat.

Boston is a lot sunnier than Toronto, at least in winter.
Do thunderstorms usually occur with patches of blue sky where you are?
We often can't see the towering thunderheads due to overcast.

Visiting a rainforest would be nice,
but I don't know if I'd want to live there, vs somewhere drier and sunnier.
I would probably pick rainforest over treeless-desert though.

It depends on what sort of thunderstorms, but most times, it's cloudy for maybe an hour before it comes and then clears up once it's done.

Nah, it's just the dry season. Most of the rain falls in the summer monsoon.
