Oh dear. While those are the average conditions for late December, I would much rather have a 1 inch snowfall on Christmas Eve, warming up to a sunny 44 F. Christmas night can have a low of 23 F.

-1/-5 and light flurries of snow if living here.

Elsewhere, far warmer

Heavy snowfall of at least 4" on Christmas Eve. The low of 12-14 would occur shortly after midnight. Snow would continue to fall through the night, gradually tapering off to flurries at around 6:00 am and ending at 10-11 am. Temps would warm gradually into the high 20s or low 30s under overcast conditions until about 2:00 pm. Then the sun would come out leading to an abrupt rise in temps up to the mid 40s until sunset.

Overview:

High: 46
Low: 13
Snowfall: 0.5-2.0"

Light snow in the morning, giving way to a sunny and mild afternoon.

Mostly sunny with some scattered cumulus clouds and a moderate breeze (about 12 mph [18 km/h]). High of around 83*F (28*C) and low of around 66*F (19*C).

Bing Crosby would have been right if "white" were referring to sand on the beach instead of snow
