The worst we had in August last year was a high of 17.8c/64f and 0.8 hours of sun. The minimum was 13.5c/56f. However, it rained on that day.

The worst DRY day we had was warmer with more sun.

In July our coolest dry day was a high of 19.7c/67f and totally overcast.

-An overnight low between 48-52 F (9-11 C); the clouds and constant wind help keep the diurnal range low.

-Combining the daytime high with overnight low and your "sunset" (or rather transition from dim-to-dark)
temperatures are in the mid-high 50's F (12-15 C)

*I already know that the people who love heat will find this disgusting, and those that hate summer will find it refreshing. (simply because they might hate anything that resembles summer or "warmth") But most people I've met in real-life do not fall into either category. So this is mostly to find out what average people feel about this, however, heat-lovers and cold-lovers are welcome to comment too.

Thanks.
If you live on Iceland's south and east coasts, Ushuaia or Punta Arenas in South America or the nearby Falklands summer weather is seldom that pleasant. Usually you get the rain, too.

(probably part of the reason those regions are sparsely populated )

I sometimes look up the forecast for Punta Arenas in summer (actually it's "summer" for them), and it's almost always something like 10-12C with rain.

How do people survive in these sub-arctic hellholes?

Hopefully, many of their residents are the polar-opposites of heat-loving folks like you and I, SAB.

I could see ILNC somewhere like that...
maybe for a year before wanting to actually see "some green" in a "less cold" climate.

the fact that they haven't all killed themselves off yet probably proves your point lol

IMHO ILNC or any of the people who like opposite weather from us are just looking for an inbetween climate. They just hate having 6 months of such extreme heat every year. They're more then likely not really looking for 50 below zero temps either.

Kind of like me~I'd put up with a hot summer just so I wouldn't have to put up with such cold winters. But would I honestly like it at 110 degrees for a couple months? More then likely not.

Well I do know she wants a cold climate by my standards.
She hates 75 F, and that isn't even close to extreme to 90+ % of the world.
I wouldn't call what she likes "in-between", just as my coolest prefered climate still wouldn't really be "in-between" to most people.

I'd put up with consistantly dangerous heat indexes to not be cold,
but that too is unlikely as any heat index under 105 F is usually not a problem.
(and few parts of the world actually remain higher than that)

For me, an ideal climate would have to have at least one "tropical" season.
("tropical" = no mornings under 60 F, no days under 80 F)
Most people would not describe that as an "in-between" climate.
Am I wrong in my assumption?

I think a mid-summer day as described would be lovely. I love overcast summer days, so romantic for a long walk on the beach...

AHHHH, a long walk on the beach. You did have to mention that during my cold spell, didn't you?

CC, I understand what you're saying. But I think the reason ILNC hates the heat may partially be due to humidity. I'm not sure if you were south of the Carolinas, but down in Tx. and Fla. and the very lower part of places like La., Ala., Ms. get very humid. I actually think she'd love 75 degrees up here. Maybe not specifically my area cause we do have some humidity here, but I'm thinking more like western So. Dak.
