Sydney, Australia: 154km/hr from the west In October 1940 and 150km/hr from the west-south-west in January 1958. We get extreme gales from the west or during east coast lows/low pressure systems from the south and south east.

Do tornadoes count? If so, the highest windspeed is close to 300 MPH. (One of the most powerful F5 tornadoes in recorded history destroyed our downtown in 1970.) I know there have been some thuderstorms in the past few years where there were gusts over 100 MPH. There have even been some days where sustained winds have been as high as 60 MPH.

Highest sustained here has been over 40mph (gusting to near 60). That is what I can remember off top without researching, due to time constraints.

Highest wind speed in Perth was 151 km/h in September...forgot the precise date because they don't have wind records anymore at the bom. But in later winter/spring we usually have at least one occasion with 100 km/h winds.

During a violent monsoon-induced thunderstorm about a decade ago, a wind gust was clocked at 117 MPH at Deer Valley Airport in north Phoenix.

1992 Hurricane Andrew is what I remember well with peak gusts around 165 mph before it destroyed the wind gauge at the Hurricane Center
