However, I would not want to visit this place in the middle of summer! And this is coming from someone that enjoys warm/hot temperatures in the summer (80s and 90s. Sometimes even the lowest 100s but nothing above 104 degrees). Death Valley is too hot even for me.
Your quite right – though maybe the hottest place on earth in the Northern Hemisphere summer, Death Valley has comfortable and mild temperatures from late October through April. I’ve never visited Death Valley, but have been in the Deserts just to the southwest (Mojave-Twenty Nine Palms, PS…etc) and the wildlife and natural scenery can be very interesting. In fact, if you come from greener/more humid climates, the difference can be shocking to see. I find the starkness of the landscape around Death Valley the most amazing. It's so different from the wet and green eastern half of the USA mainland.

As far as weather - from October through April the weather in Death Valley is actually pretty nice: Sunny and in the 60’s day and 40’s at night. Today’s forecast for Death Valley is sunny and 71 F…perfect hiking weather to explore. Agree about summer however. Death Valley is an absolute inferno: Many days reach 120 F (48 C)….and each summer you can count on a few days in the 125 – 127 F (51 – 52 C) range. That’s a bit too hot even for me. Here are some pics:

...and Scotty's of course:

I agree October to April in Death Valley has much better temperatures compared to May to September’s excessive heat.

October to April temperatures is easily habitable while May to September is not habitable or at the very least barely habitable.

That is great photos for Death Valley! I also saw great photos of Death Valley here as well: Death Valley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I enjoy plenty of different types of nature scenery such as lush green scenery, rain forests, semi-arid scenery, deserts, Deciduous trees, Tropical/Subtropical, Palm trees, Evergreen trees, Mountainous scenery, Coastal scenery, etc.

That is also true that even people that like warm/hot temperatures in the summer (such as the both of us) would find May to September to be way too hot in Death Valley.

I'm not a fan of desert scenery, I like greenery and trees and enjoy gardening sometimes.

BTW, Death Valley looks very nice from November until March IMO, then it starts getting too hot for my liking.

As a weather fan, though, visiting Death Valley in summer is worth it. I went there in late June and, even if the conditions are not ideal if you want to visit it thoroughly, it's already part of the experience to feel the midday heat and hot winds. These are the most "exotic" weather conditions I've ever experienced. But yeah if you want to hike there, it's uncomfortable and dangerous.

And this is after living in Phoenix for 10 years... I guess I don't 'acclimate', lol

Ideal for me would be mostly all in the 'mild' category of both, year round.

Daytime highs, being outside...

Mild: 60 to 70
Warm: 71-80
Hot: 80+

Nighttime lows, say, for... tent camping

Mild: 45 - 60
Warm: 60 - 70
Hot: 70+
