I live in SW Florida and our humidity is in the 70% range or higher in the summer. It's just awful. Right now, it's 59 degrees with 65% humidity.
It can be 85 degrees with humidity 50% or below and I can feel comfortable. However, once that humidity increases my comfort level goes way down. When it's hot and humid, your body's perspiration doesn't dry and cool you off. It just makes you feel damp and gross.

And living right on the gulf with nasty 90+ degree water temps and a west wind makes it true hell with dews over 74f to 82f and lows in the 80's and upper 70's. Rather die than face what is coming after May.

Ahh, a kindred spirit. While we have been having a cooler than normal January, I'm already dreading summer. I keep thinking about selling my house and moving to Northern Florida. I guess if you're retired and live on the water and have a pool and maybe even a boat, the long summers are tolerable. For me, I hibernate in reverse.

It is much worse living right on the gulf in the summer with a west flow. Lows are much higher and dew points vs inland. East coast is much better and gets much more rain.
I bounce around when i buy a home to flip. Most times just north of Tampa up to 140 miles up the west coast. Always very dry in the summer with a west wind right on the gulf and 1 mile inland, Once you are 2 to 30 miles inland you get much more rain. If we get a east wind then we get a much better chance at rain.

Man, I'm jealous. Tampa weather is WAY better than NC weather to me, at least in the winter. Tampa can grow way more things I love to grow (without winter protection) than NC can.
I don't like extreme humidity or extreme dryness. Somewhere in the middle is ideal.
I also like some rain. I feel too dry of weather is bad esepcially if it's an area that has trees as it can create susceptibility to wild fires as we've seen in CA (been in a drought).
