climates such as frankfurt and vienna are underrated IMO. warm nice summers and coolish winters with some occasional snow.

Humid Subtropical Climates: They are always called out for heat, humidity, bugs, etc. However, the heat and humidity only last part of the year, as opposed to year round in tropical locales people desire. Also, bugs in tropical climates put the bugs in humid subtropical climates to shame.

I prefer cloudy weather, so that's another plus for Kelowna IMO.

Cloudy in the summer is one thing, but cloudy/foggy winters when the sun goes down at 3:30 is another.

A bit wet, but it ain't so bad and, most especially, nobody even talks about it:

Does the same happen in San Diego?

tv stations showing people booking flights for "weather getaways" cuz they need a reprieve from the weather ?

I don't know, but I doubt it.
Not sure about that, but I do know of people who lived in Florida who would go UP NORTH during the Spring Break period!

The Pacific Northwest gets a bad rap as always cloudy/rainy/clammy but I've found that that's not the case at all. Sure it's cool and wet during winter and foggy in summer, but the fog helps keep things green and lush during our normally dry summers and it usually burns off anyway.

I think Arid and Semi-Arid climates are underrated. Often they deliver what people move to Mediterranean climates for ( sunny, dry days ) only more so, and when it comes to Arid climates, you're much less prone to seasonal wildfires.

Some examples of great Arid and Semi-Arid climates I think people would enjoy:

Heat-lovers:

Aruba - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Warmth-Lovers:

Dakhla, Western Sahara - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Warm Days, Cool Nights:

Calama, Chile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Four-Seasons Temperate:

Neuquén - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Four-Seasons Continental:

Kashgar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mediterranean minus the rain:

Almería - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
