Now that summer is on it's way out and fall is starting to move in, I took some time to reflect over the last summer we just had.I noticed that this summer took a while to "start" I mean in June we still had temps in the 30's and 40's( as lows) 55-70 range as highs. Then July warmed up a bit but never got out of the 60-70 range. August has been the warmest so far. been hitting around 78-82 almost everyday for the last few days. Don't get me wrong I love the cooler weather but I did notice that summer seemed to be a little sick this year. This year the local pools( outdoor ones) were closed for the majority of the summer because of the cooler temperatures.

I would summarize my summer as cool which I loved it!

How would you summarize your summer this year?

Cute, Misty! I'm a happy camper, used A/C twice but not for a total of 24 hrs., more like 16 and only because the carpet installers suggested it!!!

Overall it was cooler than normal, which is fine by me, love those 50 degree nights, and my only complaint was the lack of rain but basically perfect!!!

Plus I'm optimistic this cool summer might give us a stretch for Sept./Oct. maybe into November for a warm fall!

Same here in hell, Texas. But at least we're on the downside of Summer. I swear, these last few days here in DFW have been horrible. Heat indexes up around 110. You look outside and there's not a soul to be seen. Everybody is avoiding the outdoors.

It seems to have been a bit cooler than average here in Colorado Springs. We normally have a couple of stretches each year where temps are around 90 or more for a week or two. We've had a few nineties, but they've been isolated. We've had a fair amount of rain this summer too. I've enjoyed this summer. Of course, even if we have a hot summer (for us), it's still better than those in the East have to deal with, with all the humidity.

We start out in the 90s in late May and it doesn't end until sometime deep into September or early October here.

Same here. But yes, at least we know we're on the downside of summer. It's too bad winter only lasts 4-5 months, though.

Yes, I could stand for at least 6 months of the Winters we have around here. I start to get depressed around April, when we move ahead one hour and the days don't seem to end. I'm ready to move to a cooler climate. The heat here kills people. I read in the paper the other day that Texas is losing large populations of certain species to states in the North because of the extreme heat here. Birds and other animals are migrating northward permanently.
