I know there has been discussions on here about extrmely low humidites, whether or not 0-1% is possible, the lowest recorded humidities on Earth and all that, so here is conclusive proof that humidity can drop below 0.5%:

THe interior of the country is extremely dry. Being desert, with no nearby bodies of water, it can certainly happen. And being early spring, SSTs nationwide are at or near their lowest so that probably helps aswell.

Less than 1% humidity and 45+ km/h (30+ mph) winds?
I'm guessing that can't be comfortable...

It's very comfortable. Feels divine.

Unlike sub 20C temps with 45kmh winds.

Woomera is only about 105 miles/168km from Port Augusta. That's not that far inland...but enough I guess.

You've actually experienced humidity under 1%?
What I meant was eyes and mouth drying out like a vacuum hose is in front of your face,
or skin cracking badly without lotion.
Maybe I'd have to actually experience it myself to see?

*I think I'd rather have 50 degrees C, (122 F) with...
0.5% humidity,
50 km/h winds
clear skies
vertical sunshine

over any windchill approaching 0 C (32 F); I hate cold that much.

No, but I have felt 6-7% and to be honest it doesnt feel any different to the more usual 20-30%.

I can imagine that 6-7% feels good,
but humidity around 1% and windiness would probably have a VERY powerfull drying effect;
all I can picture is it being like someone holding a vacuum hose a few inches from your face. ()

I do know what a heated temp of 31 C with a dewpoint of -25 C feels like; (in a car)
quite bizarre, a little hard on the eyes and mouth, likely causing very high amounts of static electricity...

I don't know what the actual humidity was but I do remember the nose bleeds for lack of humidity when living in the midwest during the winter months. Big difference in there and here in FL.
