Where did all the rain hitting the SE US last and next week come from?

Did a tropical storm come on land? Did a himmicane or hurricane break up?

An upper level low on the Gulf and here in SE FL we're getting it from the low pressure off the coast of FL.

I'm just glad we are getting much need rain for the aquifer. We need a couple of hurricanes to dump 20 or more inches on us.

We have had a lot of rain here in Texas too! It has rained on and off since last Thursday with a lot of it being very heavy rain. I like rain, but we've had so much people are beginning to make "ark" jokes! It's almost too much for my taste and that's saying something!!!

Kay, your area has gotten a lot of rain recently. Do you live close to where the flooding and water rescues occured? I know it's such a huge area that it could be miles away. Just wondering though cause I was thinking about you when I was watching TWC.

I don't know where we stand precip wise, but we've had a lot of rainy days this summer, too. It seems like many days more then average.

Hey, the ark is waiting in the back yard just in case

A few days ago the radar showed a lot of rain in the Atlantic heading for Fla. and TX has had storms just twirling over them. Now Okla., Ark. (Arkansas that is) and Tenn have storms too. Our chance for rain today: 90%. Something somewhere "burst."

My parents live in a 'burb of DFW. They had some standing water (about 1") in their backyard, but nothing they've never seen before.
