Would you prefer the cooler and wetter Seattle, or the warmer and drier Comodoro Rivadavia?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle#Climate
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comodoro_Rivadavia#Climate

Note that Comodoro Rivadavia is nicknamed "The Capital of the Wind" and regularly gets some high winds: weatherspark.com/y/27479/Average-Weather-in-Comodoro-Rivadavia-Argentina-Year-Round#Sections-Wind

It's a hard decision for me. I am leaning toward Seattle at the moment because I think precipitation is the more significant factor here especially when Comodoro Rivadavia doesn't have much more sunshine than Seattle. I also prefer the higher humidity of Seattle, but it's pretty close with two C+ climates.

As usual, please choose fairly and do not consider human-caused air pollution or other non-climatic factors.

Interesting that they are both at around the same distance from the equator

Commodoro for sure due to being much drier and having a slightly warmer winter.

I visited the city once, and yeah, the wind is straight annoying. To make it worse, there are very few trees in the streets and the area is a dusty coastal desert.
Of course i choose Seattle.

Both have that yucky dry season pattern but Seattle hands down for actually getting precipitation & having humidity. Comodoro Rivadavia looks dreadful.

Seattle for having much higher annual precipitation totals.

Seattle is not near as wet as its reputation would have it. Annual rainfall:

Seattle 38"
Munich 38"
Milan 39"
Buenos Aires 39"
Turin 40"
Naples 40"
Philadelphia 42"
Zurich 42"
Washington DC 44"
Boston 44"
Vancouver 44"
Glascow 44"
Shanghai 45"
Atlanta 50"
New York City 50"
Houston 57"
Tokyo 60"
Miami 62"
New Orleans 63"
Bergun 82"
Hong Kong 87"
Singapore 90"

Many of these cities, of course, get their rain in downpours, even monsoons, while Seattle gets its in drizzle. Seattle gets less annual precipitation because it is in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, but that doesn't mean Seattle is sunnier, has fewer "rainy" days, or isn't overcast much of the year. It just isn't "wetter".

As to being "cooler", temperature-wise, we like to say that our climate is temperate, seldom either too cold or too hot. That is changing with global warming, however, resulting in even warmer winters and hotter summers. Our summers have also become much "smokier", from forest wildfires in eastern Washington and British Columbia.

Want rain? In the Pacific Northwest, go to:

Portland 44"
Eugene 47"
Olympia 50"
Bremerton 57"
Astoria 67"
Long Beach 79"
Aberdeen 85"
Tillamook 88"
Forks 120"

The average rainfall at the Portland airport is actually slightly lower than SeaTac (36"), but other parts of the city might be rainier.
