It is 60f in my room right now, and the only way to stop from being grumpy and angry is to eat about 1,000 biscuits, which costs, well a damn site more than heating. So sod cold houses full stop.

Red face Don't hate me but...

we are due to get much colder here at end of week and I was happy to hear it!

(However, my idea of pleasure is NOT, repeat NOT sitting in an unheated room shivering!) No, heated room, fireplace, good book!)

Yes, today we're 23 degrees above average with a record breaking 62 degrees.

Although it's cloudy I can't go back to Winter after this, it's not happening lol.

Actually I thought today was quite miserable - gray, wet and windy. I got soaked even with an umbrella.

It was miserable earlier (I couldn't look straight without my face being soaked) but once the rain stopped and the sun came out it was actually nice (except for the fact that it was wet).

I try to keep my air conditioning fairly high in the summer to keep the bill low, but I've found 78 is the highest I can comfortably tolerate when trying to sleep, and that's with a fan blowing on me all night. However, I've managed to sleep (with great difficulty) when our AC has gone out and it's much warmer. I couldn't tell you how warm it was exactly, but I had one fan on high aimed directly at me, and another on high mounted in the window to evacuate warm air from my room. By the time I woke up it was in the 70s outside but still much warmer in my room. Still, I somehow managed to fall asleep and do okay. Just guessing I'd say it was probably in the mid 80s in the room, but certainly not more than that.

Interesting story. Thanks for sharing.

I think the main difference between me and most people is just a different attitude.
You said it yourself that you were capable of sleeping in much higher temps than you would like.
If I tried to sleep in temps even 10 F higher than I'd prefer and I managed to stay asleep,
my pillow would probably be damp with sweat when I woke up.

However, with indoor conditions barely cool enough to not sweat while sleeping,
I would likely be in a better mood than most people who are also trying to sleep,
thus I'd be likely to get more restful sleep.
