in the mid-south? I recently relocated. In the Northeast a sign of spring was the return of robins. Since I have seen them all winter here in Tennessee....what would it be here?

Temperature Rising
Even though it was warm outside, the heat was on full blast in my office at the hospital. So I asked our nursing unit secretary to get someone to fix it. This was a one-man job, so I could not figure out why two guys showed up--until I was handed the maintenance request form. It read "Head nurse is hot."

In NW NC some of the first signs of spring that I notice are the narcissus and forsythia begin to bloom… and they are both bright yellow.. it is a pleasure to see after everything has been gray/brown for a few months... I can hardly wait!

When 40's & 50's make up the majority of the forecast (right now it's mostly 40's).

Supposed to be 60° here tomorrow in NE Tennessee.
1st signs of spring here... tulips start pushing up, easter lillies, etc. Though some locals have told me they already have they have already been coming up.
Also, the weeping willows start to leaf out first.

In the south premature warmth happens frequently. i.e. 60's and 70's in January and February. Trees may begin to bud out extremely early but then slow down when the weather returns back to normal. There is barely a dead season once you get far enough south. Like south of the "snow line" around Macon or Montgomery for example.
