It's gonna be a mess here... but they're saying that it could bypass where I am (Long Island) and we'll only get a few inches. The big storm a month or two ago took days to dig out of, and the plows were not prepared.

>old-timer talk<

I was there for a big snowstorm in the early 80s, maybe 1979... also was in the big ice storm in DC in around 19-and 93... walked to work that day I did, slippin and slidin... (whittle, spit)

Evidently it's snowing already in Washington.

Gonna have to work hard to beat this one, though -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blizzard_of_1996

At least it's the weekend. Less traffic, as long as we don't lose power..somehow listening to the super bowl on Sirrius radio in my car isn't going to cut it...lol

Oh, I remember those days. Snow that came down in January, still hanging around in early March. Has the milk/bread frenzy started yet?

I had no idea winter could be easy until I moved to southern New Mexico.

This is why I moved to where I don't have to shovel the sunshine.

That storm is stretching all the way back into central Missouri. It's been snowing all day. Beautiful , but I'm glad tomorrow is a Saturday.
