I'm happy my cable internet is back up after a very violent thunderstorm. And happy for all the rain that fell along with a 30° drop in temp.

Happy to have had a great weather day today: temps in the 80's, big, puffy white clouds floating by on a nice breeze, and the sky was a beautiful shade of blue... wonderful!

Haha I knew it! Our train system can't cope with two days of hot weather because it wasn't designed for temperatures we actually do on occasion get most years

BBC News - Train services cancelled 'due to heat'

It's kinda bittersweet because chances are the power (and thus the A/C) will go out for a little bit, but this rain is definitely welcome!

Edit: Just been issued a severe thunderstorm watch. Pretty potent system for this time of year, although this won't cool down things at all.

Happy that a cloudy unsettled June for NZ is almost over, with cooler and brighter conditions likely in July. Sydney had almost 103 hours of sunshine in the 11 days 17th-27th, in the shortest days of its "winter". Meanwhile Darwin has clocked up 281 hours in the first 27 days of the month - something akin to that would be very welcome here!
