Long Island is Suffolk or Nassau Counties. Queens has plenty of detached houses, though they aren't majority of the housing stock. And even Brooklyn or The Bronx has some.

Whoops, that's what I meant lol. Richmond County is Staten Island. Always get the two mixed up. Where in Queens do you find them? I never found any of them, but I've only been to Jamaica Bay, Flushing, and I forget where my uncle used to live, it was along Metropolitan Ave.

Mostly east of I-678, which got built later and less densely. It's mostly past the reach of the subway. You don't have to go much east of Flushing. About a mile east of the commercial center of Flushing:

Area used to be heavily Jewish, but now it's rather Asian. Further east:

Though there are plenty of apartment buildings mixed in. Southeast Queens (Hollis):

even in Queens near Manhattan you can find scattered detached houses mixed in:

semi-detached are quite a bit more common. If I were rich I'd consider buying this house in NYC (Brooklyn):

and the story of the current owners is rather cute:

Fishman and his wife Diane have owned the house since the 1980s. As a boy growing up in the neighborhood, Mr. Fishman was fascinated by the house. He took Diane there on their first date, telling her he “would own this house some day.” They are its fourth owners.

Bit of an odd statement. Unless you meant to ask me question, in which case, you should use this >> ?.
