You were not born in an american state and lets be honest here if Puerto Rican people really considered themselves American they would be a state by now.

You're creating your own definition, why don't you use what's used by actual Americans? Who are you to judge when it's not It's also can be construed as a bit offensive.

Except theunbrainwashed isn't in Puetro Rico, he's in the US, and judging from his posts has been here for at least a decade or two. He's far more familiar with the workings of the US and American culture than someone from the UK.

I mean seriously lets be honest here British people probably have far more in common and even visit America more than say Guam or Samoa!
Visiting a country doesn't mean you're part of the culture. But the comparison makes no sense because those residents are living in the US.

You don't have to be born in the US to be considered an American. If you live and work here for decades, most would consider you American even if you weren't born here.

37.1 percent Chamorro. 26.3 percent Filipino etc... Yes not North American... But it does not matter what I say because you will just say they are American.

Yet they have never visited America, they do not speak English. Let me so no more..
Its just really like saying someone in one of the British colonies is from the UK e.g Bermuda.
