Just looked at current sea temperatures and they are going UP in January due to this stupid mild spell.

Thank goodness it is cooling down again.

Living is literally the longest thing anyone ever does. I don't understand what kind of response you're expecting by basically posting "weather doesn't matter" on a weather forum.

Well they live in southern England.

Isn't the mosquitos here different from the tropics because in the summer we don't use mosquito nets, and sprays. I thought midges were our mosquitos if that makes.

Don't they spread north during heatwaves?

The mosquitos here are mosquitos, midges are a different species. They don't carry malaria here anymore, though they used to before 1950.

There are 33 species of mosquito in the UK.

I know midges are different species I just thought midges had the same niche mosquitos have.

How can I be going over the top when I saw something with my own eyes? Unless it was a bird the size of a peanut, I'm pretty sure it was a fly. There have even been reports of bats flying around, and they usually come out if there are insects available.

For goodness sake, stop peddling the myth that England is milder than NI (in the winter) and that NI is the new bloody Arctic - England is more prone to cold and snow, Met Office averages back this up, get over it.

I haven't notice mosquitoes any of the time I spent in England over the summer, though it was mostly Outer London, but near a park and the greenbelt so it wasn't too built up. They didn't have screens on the windows which is a bit unheard of here (kinda asking for mosquitoes) and they didn't seem to get much in the way of bugs. In fact, the locals seemed rather unused to insects and a few rather terrified.

Though, I did live in a place without screens and didn't get too much in the way of mosquitoes. I left the windows open all day long during the summer there. Came back home and found a squirrel had eaten some food I left out in my room and pooped on the windowsill.
