On a more weathery note it seems these Easterly winds this winter is just ladened with grey clouds that produce very few snow showers as possible. I mean I enjoy winter but these cloudy cold days are so depressing and boring. Boring because theres nothing to get excited about, the cloud cover limits cold nights, frost and the daylight hours is just so gloomy and dull.
This may sound weird but if it was snowy then the sun actually showed itself this cold would feel much more rewarding.
I wish I lived in my dream climate.
Yes, six days of endless raw gloom with a seventh to come tomorrow isn't really what I want this late in the season either so I've decided to cheer myself up with putting this picture as my desktop background. I took it on 23rd March 2011 - spring will be a little later this year, but we shouldn't have to wait much more than a month for this kind of scene again.
Well the spring has got later year and year. The Daffodils haven't even started blooming here and the trees still have no leaves. So it will be at least mid-march before spring gets going.
The winters are just more extreme. I've just had 8 frosts in a row in February which is gonna continue into March. Pretty uncommon.

No daffodils in London? They haven't bloomed yet here, but some lawns are full of stems (?), despite Saturday being an ice day and the 4 sunless snowy days we've had.

The stems are there but no actual flowers yet, not in my part of town at least. I think it's quite unusual to wait until March to see them in London, but this has been the coldest second half of winter since the snowfest of 1995/96 so it's not so surprising.

I dont think it makes a difference, eventually they just come out. I think if you have loads of cold days and a few warm days they will come out. Its only a few warm days needed.
