Was at a wedding last month and they were doing the bouquet toss event. A bunch of early and mid 20s women went up the stage. Then, at a table, a bunch of women were edging this other woman to go up and participate. Turns out it was a early 50s lady. It looked like she was reluctant but finally went up.
I felt kinda bad for her as she was "forced" to go up and participate.
Anyways, do you guys like or hate it? Or don't mind it?
Hate it. It's stupid. If I'm single at a wedding and I'm forced up there ("c'mon, get up there, you're single! Har har!") I stand as far off to the side as I can with my drink and let the kids fight over the bouquet.

I have never been to a wedding where they forced anyone to do anything.
This was one case that someone was explicitly "forced"
In most weddings, you are "implicitly" forced. In a sense that, everyone who knows you knows you are single. So, when the MC calls all the single ladies on stage and you decide not to go, well...everyone would know anyways...
If I were a single lady at a wedding and I didn't want to participate, I wouldn't. If your family is one of "those" where there is that much pressure (I've seen families like this), why not go to the ladies room for an extended period of time. Or better yet, bring a baseball bat and lob the thing back, lol. I bet if you did that no one would "force" you ever again.
Of course, first thing I thought of with this thread was, "In Soviet Russia, Bouquet tosses YOU!"
