Thank you Ms. RedZin,

I don't want him to do the extreme of get down on his knee.

All I want is the 'official' proposal words of : 'Would you married me'
And I just can't seem to get it out of him, ARGG!!!!

If I be like, i want you to say the "would you married me" words. Isn't that like asking his hands in marriage? It just so awkward, seem like I am FORCING him to say it. You know what I mean?

It just seem so forceful, like I'm forcing him to propose to me.

That's why you have to let him know you like romantic.

Then, he'll just ask.

Why don't you just discuss getting married like two adults? Instead you're acting like a little girl who expects something her man simply can't offer.

I want to know the Differences between "wedding ring", "engagement ring", 'promise ring", 'couple rings" in western culture.

And if anyone can share their proposal stories, please share.

To the ladies, can you share how your husband propose to you?
To the gentlements, can you share how you propose to your wife?
Was the proposal romantic? Did the wedding have both sides of the families give their blessing?

When I see other people happy in their marriage, I also feel happy. I think they are fortunate and I admire them alot.
He proposed over the phone.

They're all ways for people to waste money on a band of metal. Most Americans, with the way their weight is ballooning, will have to cut the damn thing off their finger within 15 years.

Promise ring is to stay faithful while dating/no sex
Couples ring are rings both wear to stay faithful and confuse others that you are married.
Engagement ring is for the female and male to stay loyal and have marriage down the road.
Wedding ring is worn when the couple gets married and often worn with the engagement ring.

Honestly every ring is sweet. But promise rings I see more teens wear.Couples ring is a bit odd.

Traditionally, in Western culture, a man would present an "engagement ring" on his knee while proposing marriage to a woman. This would be the more expensive ring, with a jewel like a diamond.

The marriage ring is worn by both the man and woman, and is placed on both the bride's and groom's fingers on the day of marriage.

There is no legal value to these rings. You can be married in your local city hall with or without rings.

The other rings are more recent concepts. Young, wealthy teenagers madly in love "until the end of time" on prom night might wear "couple rings". This is a waste of money, IMHO, as young relationships generally fail. Couple rings might be less expensive, like silver.

Wedding ring - legit
Engagement ring - marketing scam
Promise ring - ok, if you're in middle school
Couple's ring - wtf?
