My boyfriend and I might be moving to West Palm Beach. I have been trying to do some research on apartments, but it is hard to tell if any of these places would be good. I would like a 1 bedroom. If some utilities were included that would be wonderful. We live in Cincinnati, OH and pay $645 a month, I could probably go up to $700. Here are the apartments I have found:

Elmwood
Shadetree
Clear Lake Club
Merry Place

I am open to other apartment suggestions. Near Clear lake would be ideal. Thanks!

Honestly the only of those I would ever even consider would be Clear Lake Club...

You might want to contact a realtor or a rental specialist to show you some of the better options out there. Look for options in the "Villages" of West Palm Beach area perhaps.

I'm sorry to say that you will have an almost impossible task to find an apt. in that price range that is not completely run down or in a high crime area.

I agree with the above poster....South Florida is known for its low incomes and high cost of living. I have lived here for 25 years, and am planning to leave due to that reason.

I've been looking at these 3 for price, safety, and location. Feel free to check them out.

Turtle Cove Apartments
Royal St. George
Malibu Bay

You should always check Apartment Ratings and Google Map the area you are looking into.

Between Turtle Cove and Royal St. George, Royal St. George is the best location and bet. Not familiar with Malibu Bay.

Malibu Bay is one of the pretty nice apartments off Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. It's in the same area as Royal St. George but across the street from Palm Beach Mall. It doesn't have very good ratings but I suspect it isn't that bad. I've lived in worse. The price and location is excellent.

In that price range, I don't think you will find much if anything in a place that you would want to live. I lived at Archstone Hidden Harbor in Royal Palm, but I paid 1035 a month for a 2 bedroom (they dont have 1 bedrooms). People dont live there long because they raise the rent on you and it gets really high. Like into the mystic said, it is known for low incomes and high crime rates. Jupiter or Wellington is nice but you wont find an apartment in that price range. I am sorry. To live in a decent area in Palm Beach County you really need to have or make a lot of money. I lived there my whole life and I moved about an hour north a year ago. I got a 3 bedroom, nice house and my mortgage is 708 a month. I havent seen any crime yet. Good luck.

Avoid Palm Beach Lakes Blvd, if you can. That isn't a good area.
