Can anyone tell me where in Palm Beach County would be a nice place to live for a family that has a good school system, hardly any crime, and affordable homes?

Maybe Wellington, there are older homes there that might not be too pricey compared with the newer subdivisions there. Depends on what you mean by affordable though. Good school system and low crime. Generally areas with good schools and low crime in PBC cost more...same as most places in the US.

The best city in PBC for good schools and seemingly affordable homes is Wellington. It's a great city.

I moved to The Acreage (western Palm Beach County) from suburban west palm because west palm had so much crime, gangs, drugs, etc. and HORRIBLE schools.

The schools are excellent out here, homes are affordable, and there are more and more amenities being built every day. The one issue I have is the well water, but with a good treatment system it hasn't been much of a problem.

I would agree with the above posters regarding Wellington as well (but it can be pricy in certain areas). Anyplace to the east (with the exception of directly on the water) will probably be either unaffordable or crime-ridden.

Sheesh, you think all of us who live in eastern West Palm Beach live in the ghetto or something? So tired of these generalizations! WPB (the city) even with its bad area, is much safer than many cities across the country that aren't so maligned! It's not the 90s anymore, crime has gone down almost 50% in the past 10 years.
