I just found out that Lighthouse is only K-3rd grade... I wonder why this is so because it would mean the child would have to switch to another school for only 2 years before it's time for middle? Has anyone decided that it wasn't worth it, or is it such a good school that it is worth it? What is the next comparable elementary school after the child "graduates" from Lighthouse?

Thanks...

Lighthouse is actually K-2, then the kids go to Beacon Cove down the road...which is 3-5.

My understanding is that with Abacoa, it is such a kid-rich area that they thought it better to keep the kids together within the community instead of having them all split up K-5.
So instead of two K-5 schools, they established a K-2 campus, and a 3-5 campus.

Could be way off, but that's what we heard when we moved.
Both my kids went to Lighthouse this year for a few months (we moved in November, then my wife elected to return with the kids to GA in March) and it was fine.
Not outrageously awesome as some of the staff their think of themselves, but a good school. They were not challenged quite as much as they were at their previous school (Shallowford Falls in GA) according to my wife, who is an elementary teacher. But we liked the area/schools MUCH more than we did anything else any closer to Delray Beach.
It appears I'll be getting the kids back down here over the summer, and am actually not looking forward to the school split. As a possibly single dad, the logistics of mornings and evening haveing to deal with 1st and 3rd graders in different schools is a bit daunting when you have to travel to Delray Beach to work every day...
