Was wondering if anyone knows when they start posting jobs for the 2012 year???? We live in NY which ends at the end of June and in NY they have posted many jobs for the upcoming school year yet PBC which ends in the beginning of June has only a handful of jobs posted...any information out there? Thank you.

I know that it's really bad in NY (at least Long Island) but i don't think it's much better down here. My Sister teaches Middle school in Lake Worth and says it's really bad throughout the county. Good Luck

PBC currently has a hiring freeze for external applicants. I am a teacher as well (just relocated from Northern NJ) and was told if by some small miracle a position opens up it will not be until at least mid-June.

PBC is certainly cutting back from what we hear...they hired 400 teachers last year and well this year it will be tough...We are facing a terrible Budget and PBC schools are in terrible financial trouble...

Thumbs up kmaxsash

Yes we have a hiring freeze for external applicants...which I though ended at the end of May.....I did hear that they plan on hiring 200+ new teachers to fulfill the class size legislation and thus need more teachers....they were planning to hire from Pennsylvania..... maybe research that angle and contact the school board every other day if needed.....there is some hope!!!Good luck to you!!!!
